It depends on how old your car is.....from 03 onwards, its under a cover which you can see after removing the cover above the knees in the passenger footwell.
On cars up to 03 its beneath a plastic cover at the base of the windscreen, passenger side after lifting the bonnet.
Although more expensive than the usual air filter, get yours from a motor factors for less than £20.
