skoda octavia electrical fault

Can anyone help i have a 2004 octavia and im having a bit of a problem
i have no dash lights or ignition lights ,the cental locking works fine but thats about it the car will start but it will only run for a second or two and it will cut out tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and ive checked all the fuses it had only been sat for 4 hours and it was fine the first time any help will be greatly appreciated

Try a different key, this shouldn't cause you to loose the warning lights, but will cause the cutting out.

Are the front carpets wet?

Just check the fuses that are directly connected to the battery positive post......

Good point John, I hadn't thought of the fuseable link at the battery.
