Have had a Sky box for ten years, never any problem with it.
Until four weeks back when it ceased to work. I found the 1.25 amp fuse in the box blown. Replaced it with another fuse (1.25 amp), and it then worked for three weeks. Again packed up, same fuse had gone again. Replaced it a few days ago. (Both times the fuse went while skybox on standby.)
It may blow again (or may not) but it probably will.
Could anybody tell me probable cause. I cannot see any obvious signs of why it went.

OK, I'm not familiar with the internals of that model. It's generally reliable but, having said that, it IS ancient and I think I'd be recycling it.

Meanwhile, make sure you are fitting the correct type of 1.25A fuse. There's fast blow, medium blow, slow blow, anti-surge and other names. If you've fitted a fast blow instead of anti-surge, it will continue to melt each time there's the slightest mains glitch.
