SL Compact Exit Timer Problem

[Alarm]

For cats get them out of the protected area.
There are some half decent "pet Proof" detectors but a cat will jump about.
So placement is critical, as is height and settings.

Avoid near stairs for a start. Cats head pops out, there is a false alarm straight away.

Dear Kev:

Now I had another problem. at the beginning it was as this thread said, after I entered code 1, the exit beep initiates but cannot be stopped by pressing "Program". Now the situation is even more weird: After I entered code one, NO exit beep is produced and the system is not "armed". Could you suggest what might possibly go wrong?

Moreover, how could I verify if my engineering code is correct (I suppose it is 9999)? Thanks again and sorry for so many questions.
