I need to add a couple of feet to a sleeper wall under the wooden floor in my kitchen.

How far down do I need to dig for the foundations to the wall? The wall itself is only 2 courses high.

Normally the brickwork is bedded on the oversite concrete. If you have clay depending how soft is it,then I would've thought at least 6" should be okay and don't forget to put the dampcourse under the wall plate.

Under the wall plate - where do you mean?

I was going to put a DPC on top of the wall under the 2 by 4 I'm strapping to the top of the wall for the floor joist to sit on.

Do I need to put a DPC somewhere else?

Thanks.

No that is correct, the 4"x2" sit onto the DPC then onto the wall.I might have confuses you here as the 4"x2" is also known as the wallplate!
