Hi, my sliding door will not open as the spindle keeps turning. How do I get the door to open?

I’m guessing I then need to replace the lock case and fit a new barrel

I don't know specifically.
I've seen the glass removed then holes drilled inside frame to get at the mechanism in windows to trigger and open it.
Some how you need to trigger the multi point locking..
Maybe get a firm in to sort. You will need a new casement lock which is another problem when you do open

Thanks,

I’ve got the tools and capability to drill it but not experience of hitting the right spot to release the mechanism.

How difficult is it? Is the sea below the spindle and will it take a few holes drilled?

If I get the door open then replacing the mechanism should be straightforward as I’ve replaced one before when the door was open.

I don't know.
I do know that the knowledge to do it is priceless.

if the spindle surround has broken I will guess you could use a wire to fish the latch catch maybe..

Has the spindle worn or the hole it goes through in the latch. If it's the former then obviously use a different spindle. If it's the latter then try turning it with a flat bladed screwdriver that you can jam in the hole.
