Hi,

Perhaps a silly question, but when packing out joists/noggins for a domestic floor, it it normal to make the sliding wedges yourself on site? I can't find any for sale, or perhaps I'm searching for the wrong thing...?

You make them.

Why not just cut a bit of timber to the required thickness, flex the joist out, put it in and spike it

if its only a slight difference, then i cut dpc to fit under the joists.

Cheers - I've made a pair, hammered them in from opposite sides, then locked them in place with a couple of screws.
