I’m installing a new gate post tomorrow

IMG_4003.jpeg

2.7m long (90cm going into ground and 1.8m high gate hanging into it with t hinges)

It has a slight twist in it, nothing too major

Will this be ok to use?

Is it more important to get the face of the new and existing post flush or focus on ensuring the gap between the two posts is uniform across the length?

Cheers

That post will pop probably keep twisting a bit more.
Just the way timber is there days.
Fine to use it as you can make it work.
I prefer to use a concrete post as more ridged.
