slotted nuts

hi there.

I have some door knobs with that are slightly too short to project all of the way through the (hollow) wardrobe doors. I am unable to put the nut and washer on the internal side of the door.

The knobs are ceramic and I guess that the threaded rods have been epoxy glued.

I guess that I need something that looks like a rounded connector nut but with a collar at one end with a screwdriver slot. Anyone know what they are called?

Duh, they are threaded sleeve nuts.

Just found a picture on Bing.
 
Yes, most DIY shops sell small packs of those nuts with screws as they are used for bolting kitchen units together. They come in different thread sizes so you should find some suitable ones.
