Slow laptop fixed

My 5 year old laptop (Asus X5DIJ , Windows7) had slowed down to a crawl
and was was crashing (BSOD) every couple of days.

A clean reinstall of Windows7 (£45 at my local independent computer shop including reinstallation of my files) has brought it back to better than new.

Can't believe I put up with the compromised performance for so long.

Not a post for the techies here, i know, but might help someone who is contemplating replacing their PC in frustration as I was.

And to save people £45 - it is in fact a DIY job that's not too hard.
The money can be better spent on an external HDD to backup onto before reinstalling.
