The tiny pull cord switch on my bathroom mirror lights is broken, and the diynot-thread below gave me the link for this, which looks exactly like the thing I need.

(Original thread: //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=87548)

However, my mini pull cord switch is labelled (amongst many other unknown markings) with a "2.5" which has a "250" underneath.

Does this mean that it's a 2.5 amp?
If so, does any of you know where to find a 2.5a switch? The switch shown above, from tlc-direct, is only 2a.

The light that I need the new switch for, is a "theatre dressing room mirror light"-style job, a ca. 40cm long casing with 4 X 40w lightbulbs in it, kind of similar to something like this - not sure a 2 amp switch is enough for this size light?

Many thanks,
Susanne

40w x 4 =160w /230v = approx 0.7a so 2a is fine.

Happy Xmas
