Small question about wiring layout

I'm looking to remove the two outlets circled here in black and retain the third. Is it the case that I can use an appropriate wago box to connect either of the two incoming wires to the wire that runs to the third outlet? Looks simple but I'm not an electrician and just want to make sure I'm being safe.

No, you must connect BOTH lots of the incoming wires to the wires that runs to the third, or
connect BOTH to the third if they will reach.

However, you then raise the problem of concealed cables.
They are only suppose to run horizontally or vertically to/from accessories to which they are connected.

Thanks very much for this, I appreciate your help. The actual runs of the cables won't change. Both wires won't reach to the third box, unfortunately. Is there a circuit diagram that shows the appropriate configuration of wires for attaching the two incoming to the wire running to the third?

Maybe not - but the sockets which indicate the cables' existence will no longer be there.

You just connect all three Lines(lives) together, all three Neutrals together and all three Earth wires together.

I'll be removing wires which come down from the ceiling, and making the new connection in the void between joists before installing a new ceiling. Will that be ok?

I suppose - as long as the cables drop vertically to the socket(s).

Could we have a more accurate diagram of the existing layout?

Sure thing. It's something like this, where all of the top wires running horizontally are above a ceiling. Sockets 1 and 2 are on opposite sides of a wall. So the connection to 3 would be above the ceiling at the point circled in red, and there would be nothing coming down into the left most room any more. The right hand room would remain exactly the same.
