I have a Potterton EP2001 controller linked to a conventional CH/HW system/boiler/thermostat which works perfectly apart from needing to physically press buttons on the controller itself …

Is there a direct replacement that can also be programmed/controlled remotely (via an App/web browser/Alexa)? …

I do NOT want smart thermostats!!!

Thanks …

Plenty available, don’t get why you don’t want smart but want Alexa/app control. Some of the Drayton Digistat range have Bluetooth connectivity via an app.

This is the definition of a smart thermostat :)

Can you help define what you really want in a stat?
Do you want easy to use controls/ buttons etc?

There are plenty of programmers/stats out there that have a very similar backplate design to the EP2001, that will require minimal rewiring.
I.e. Dual channel Hive, Drayton Wiser etc

Since my post I’ve read up on it a bit more and now realise what I was calling a “smart thermostats” will do(ish) what I want!

I want to be able to control my CH/HW remotely (including while I’m away).

I think I can do that with eg a

Hive Active Heating 2 Wireless Thermostat?

but I would need to disable/disconnect the thermostat I have in the hall and use the wireless Hive thermostat instead?

But not sure exactly how to do that?

Is it as per this https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/replace-potterton-ep2001-with-hive-active-heating-control.528368/ or is there more to it?

Thanks …
