Hi,

We moved into a new build which had a Smeg Oven already installed. The previous sale fell through so the appliance is a few years old. It trips the electric out occasionally when its cooling down but the other day there was a flash behind the grill selector and now the thing doesn't regulate temperature.

Do you think its worth just swapping out the thermostat? Its a pricey unit on this model so just wondered if anyone could offer advice if its worth it.... especially as I can get a new oven for a few hundred.

I would start by looking to see if there is an obvious visible fault such as burnt wires that have shorted together.

This could be the grill regulator as it is behind the knob.
