Had this for about three years. Gone kaput..

Basically you switch a programme on and it is fine for about 15 minutes. Then it stops and dial just clicks steadily all the way round to end of progamme. Result? Unclean clothes and a drum full of water - it doesn't drain out at all.

Dunno if it is related but the drying function has been rubbish for a while now. Takes 3 hours to dry one towel.

Have cleaned out drain pump thingy today and removed bit of zip stuck there but not made any difference.

Any thoughts?

Blockage preventing draining would be my first guess based on your description of the fault.
As to the drying, blockage in the system / condenser would be the first place to check.

Hmmm, well have cleaned out the drainage tube. I'll have another look - see if there is anything stuck right up there..

Righto, Mr Smeg man has just been here and reckons it is the control module that has gone. Does that sound plausible? Don't want to fork out for something that isn't correct.

Price he is quoting is £168.00 just to buy the part...

Total cost including installation is £226.91. At that price I'm having serious doubts as to whether bother fixing it, or just to bin it...
