Hi
I am connecting a radio signal smoke alarm to the nearest lamp point. What I just can't make my brain work out is this;
when the light switch is off why won't the alarm lose its live feed. I am sure it is a simple answer but my brain just won't work it out.

Thanks in advance for your replies

EFLI beat me too it.

You don't want to be connecting the smokes to a switched live otherwise it will be like you said. Use the permanent live. That's assuming there is a permanent live there and not at the switch. Otherwise you might have snags.
