So how do you do it?

Some say score, some say don't.
Some say steam, some say don't
Some say to just spray water on the walls.

Ive got a large bungalow to strip. Concrete floors so luckly it can get messy.

Your views please.

depends what sort it is

if ordinary, non-glossy, non-vinyl, non washable, just use water. I like to use a garden sprayer with warm water plus a little washing-up liquid to help it soak in. Mist lightly again and again (no need to have it running onto the floor) as soon as it soaks in to keep it wet. Use a large metal scraper. Continue with the warm water and scraper to get the old paste off as well. If you see the paper is not getting wet, scratch the dry sections to let the water in. Take your time.

If it is vinyl, pull the top layer off first, then wet and scape the underlayer.

Also do this if it is painted. You will need to scratch it

If it is a coated paper it will probably get in at the seams first, then spread. Pull off a few inches from the top of the wall so water can soak down behind the rest.
