I am trying to remove the wallpaper in a large room. After steaming off one layer I have discovered another of oil-painted textured wallpaper!
It has taken a full week of scraping to clear one wall, with much damage to the plaster (& myself). Can anyone suggest a better method?

I did try NitroMors, some expensive stripping paste & a piercing roller with steamer. All failed miserably.

Have you tried a sharp wide chisel?

You can buy wallpaper perforators or hire them..the best ones I have found are called hedgehogs and are spikes on wooden rollers which perforate the surface before you use a steamer

Another one for the ignore button..
