By the looks of things you will have to remove box, and chop out some plaster to let box go into the wall further or use a thinner metal back box, but it might be that already.

Thanks. Will I need to get the pasterer back in to fix it. Is it A bit shoddy of the plasterer to leave it like that ? If so worth getting them back to fix ?

Who put the box on and was it there before he started plastering? By the looks of it, if he had plastered to the depth of the box, your skirtings would be sunk into the wall!

If it was flush before plastering how is it now sticking out ? Plastering would if anything made it deeper unless it was not fixed securely

The plasterer will probably blame the person who fitted the socket. If it was me I would switch the power off take the socket off and see if you can push it back further and secure it.
