SOCKET/SWITCH HIGHT

Building Regs state the following....

switches and socket-outlets in dwellings to be installed at a height of between 450mm (bottom of socket) and 1200mm (top of switch) from the finished floor level.

OK as far as it goes, but under part M there is no requirement to apply this retrospectively. So, unless it's a new build or such a drastic refurb that it can be considered as all new (a friend of mine had to take a house back to the brick, all plaster etc removed, and was advised by the LABC that part M would apply) then you can put them at the same height as the existing sockets/switches.
