im moving our washer to a utiility room.and would please like to know can my machine drain to the base of a soil pipe.im a bit concerned that \\\"stuff\\\" could come back up the stand pipe and up the outlet hose. Any advice would be appreciated
Use a sink or wash basin cannection to the soil pipe as if you were adding a sink waste to it. This will provide a U bend which will stop fumes coming out to the washer. It ia advisable to heve a vent where the washer hose joins the waste pipe to prevent the water in the U bend being syphoned out. Vertical length of waste pipe with the hose feeding into but not sealed to this vertical
Take note of the local regulations ( building control officer a the local council can help ) and how the fit the connection to the soil pipe
