This is my second post on soil pipes so I’ll apologise to start with.

We’d like to extend out the back of our kitchen across the majority of the house width.
The soil stack is bang in the middle and has been causing us a headache for a while trying to plan around it.

I think it’s possible to reroute it but wanted to gather some opinions.
I’ve done a rough sketch showing 3 toilets connected to it (there are baths and showers too).
It is possible to follow the pink route? I know it will need boxing in for the horizontal path and that might need to be in the open ceiling of the extension?

Can you swap concertina pipe in void for solid because of air flow and condensation?

Re soil stack.
Move drain in ground. Soil stack should be vertical. Can deviate a bit but nothing like your picture.
Architect or building control will advertise.

Thanks. Not sure about your first question.

If I move the drain in the ground to the far right (just over 2m from the original drain) assume that means there is a 90 bend where it will join the old drain under the floor?

Is that horizontal run a no no then? I know it will need to have the correct drop and will likely result in an additional boxed in section alongside the new RSJ for the extension.

Finding this a difficult decision as it really dictates the format of the kitchen in the extension.

We extended our bungalow so soil pipe runs inside and drainage pipe goes under the kitchen floor

Sound like you had a different problem. Ours is inside but in the middle of a room which we want to open up.

Original conversation was to leave it where it is, increase side of the pillar and use to reduce the RSJ spans.. but this restricts our options

Ours was in the corner of bathroom.
I put a new soil pipe in about 2m away that is now in the kitchen.
Its in the boxing behind coffee picture.
It was originally in the bathroom behind wall on the other about 2m away.

Unfortunately the door don't open all the way but that's how it ended up.
I could of made boxing smaller but it was chaos doing all the building myself and a oversight on my behalf.
Drain then runs under floor to outside.

Sounds like you need to do something similar by moving pipe and drain

Could be done, assuming there is the ability to get suitable Falls on the 'horizontal' sections. Drain would have to be re-laid under the floor, if that is achievable, then just ensure the run across the room also has adequate fall.

Also need to ensure underground run is accessible from Downstream for rodding should a blockage occur.

Most of the block and beam floor would need to come up to relocate waste water and supply to the proposed island so adding the extra underground run would be possible. There is an inspection cover at the front of the property and the existing run is straight from back of the property to the front.

The falls are the issue potentially. All 3 toilets are located either side of the centre of the property which means moving to one side isn’t trivial
