Hi!
I have had a soil steriliser that has been wired to run as single phase apparently!?
It looks like on the back maybe it could run as either reading the voltages on the back sticker.
I pulled the back off to look at the wiring and it looks like the live from the flex is connected to the top and bottom blocks and the middle one has been wired to the neutral!? Does this sound right?
I found a similar unit, mine is slightly larger, on line that said the following:
OIL STERILISER
HD5114 – Capacity 68 Ltrs
This unit is similar to the HD5112 in
construction, but is fitted with two
1.5kW elements. Sterilisation time is
about 90 minutes with a consumption
of 4½ units of electricity.
Could this be wired into FCU on existing circuit ( already one in from old welder) or will it need it's own dedicated 40 amp circuit!? The labels on the back are confusing and the electrian who did the wiring has retired.
Many thanks !
