I am installing a new toilet in an extension on the 1st floor, the main bathroom has a vented soil pipe which is about 15-20 meters away from the new toilet do i need a vented soil pipe? only asking as it will have to go through a roof below and is a bit of a pita..

Loz7, good evening.

Suggest? you Google [other search engines are available] Durgo Valves?

These things allow air to get into a Soil Pipe, but do not allow Sewer gas to get into the House?

Ken.

As long as there is a vent elsewhere on the property, you shouldn't need another. Terminate the new stack with an Air Admittance Valve (AAV, also referred to as a 'Durgo Valve'), which must be above the spillover level of the highest appliance connected to the stack. (Usually this is the basin).
