Soil Waste/ Multi fit Boss adaptor

Hello
I need to connect a new 40mm waste pipe to an existing boss connector its a Hepworth internal Reducer 100/110mm to 32/40mm, please see picture.

Does the old pipe just pull out and the new one of the same size just push back in or do i need to renew the whole rubber boss adaptor as well.

I'd renew the adaptor for what it costs, the old one may not seal on the pipe once disturbed.

Thanks for your advice gents It is appreciated. I will get a new boss.
I am not sure how to fit a new one
Does the old one just pull out and the new one push in like a pan connector.
