Have been offered free solar panels by an acquaintance with the mounting brackets but will need the rest of the kit involved, anyone know what else is required and approx costs.

You will require AC/DC inverter, generation meter, utility/export meter, a couple of isolators, some DC cable. Plus the required labels and notices.

What's the total wattage rating?
What do you plan to do with the power - feed it back to the grid or use it to power something?

If you install it yourself you won't be able to claim the feed in tariffs etc. To claim those it needs to be installed by an accredited company. This may make it not worthwhile.

There are about a dozen panels, guy giving them too me works for accredited company. I think he may be able to arrange installation thanks.
