Solar Panel simple question

Another multi line, fairly pountless post IMO.

The OP had his answer in basic terms, which was all that was needed.
Fair enough, we'll just leave it at that. IMO the original answer was "misleading", but if it makes you feel happy thinking that way then carry on.

It's not just me thinking that way, the whole Internet community does, the manufacturers of inverters do (and show this in the inverters manuals on the first pages). The DNOs are also of this opinion as have issues with localised over voltage in densely populated solar areas.

After my recent dealings with inverter manufacturers and the DNO, and then reading your post, I have no nagging feelings and no interest in returning to the manufactures or DNO to argue any points. In simple terms, to encourage the current to flow, the potential must be higher than where the current is flowing to. The voltage is increased.
