To mount my wall outlet I i need to use the 1/2" ear elbow which from what I can see is what most of the 1/2" fixings seem to thread into. I've come across the following at ToolStation. Is this fitting a solder connection on the 15mm inlet?

One issue I see is that the fitting may actually be a bit too far back rather than it sitting flush at the finished tiled level. Are there any alternatives to this? or are you supposed to use some sort of extension to it? Preferably I want the inlet bit to be solder connection.

Thanks

497FH from screwfix ,any good ?

Will this do the same thing that the following will do? because it mentions for outdoor taps.

This sort of thing* can be used where a wallplate elbow is set back too far behind the finished surface.
Available in different lengths and may be cut to suit.

* I call it a 1/2" extension piece, but terminology varies

Will this work, isn't it essentially the same thing just use ptfe or loctite 55 on the threads (just wondering why everywhere that sells it refers to it as for garden taps)
