We have a walk in wardrobe, which has an opening size of about 1100mm.

A joiner cut down and fitted two normal internal doors a while ago, but the hinges have come loose. I think this is because there is too little wood on the hinge side to screw the hinges too (screwed end-on to the door edge)

I think the best idea would be to buy two solid doors, then fit these.

I assume this is how fire doors are made, but they are expensive and pretty heavy. furthermore, they are thicker than the existing internal doors, which would involve some frame re-design. A lot of faff I think.

Is there another option please ?

The gap is too small for sliding doors.

thanks for any input
