Hi,
We are going to have a new solid oak front door and frame made and wondered when we have them fitted would a joiner usually fit everything including taking the old frame out and putting the new one in. Just wondered if it would be a builders role or should a joiner be okay with it all. Also with the oak frame would this be srewed into the brick work of the house and are the holes then filled with some oak coloured filler or something, not sure how it works really.
Thanks People

yes any decent joiner/carpenter will be able to do this no problem,as to fixings, you are correct in that the frame will have to be drilled and screwed to the wall/brickwork,and either the chippy will have some oak plugs or i would recomend you ask the joinery firm to supply a few for you, that way they will match the grain/timber exactly.
