Just laid tougue and grove solid oak boards it in my dinning room and it looks beautiful. Its not as easy as laminate to lay but with a mitre saw, a good jig saw and lots of time the results are well worth the cost and occasional swear word.

I'm now coming out into the hallway and have hit a snag.

It has a 90 degree turn to the front door or rather a 85 degree turn which means the boards will not run parallel with the walls and run at a slight angle.

How do i do it so i can get the boards to run straight as an amateur and how would a professional tackle it . I dont want a transiition strip with an angled cut underneath and need a way out.

Also just out of interest the boards in the hall run the other way to the boards in the dinning room (must have a weird setup underneath the floorboards.) and rather than running the oak planks in the hall in the same direction as they are in the dinning room i was thinking of turning them 90 degrees . Would this be something a professional would do or would it look weird at the line where the boards meet and run 90 degrees to each other.

I just want it to look good so taking my time and doing every cut perfect so all advice is appreciated.
