Hey all.

I have Celotex insulation that I plan to use inbetween studs that I will fix internally to the outside walls (solid walls mostly sandstone)

Question I have is, between two rooms, where the solid wall ties into brickwork forming internal walls, will the cold from outside make its way through to these internal walls? if so is there a way of combating that without using insulation on internal walls, or is it just accepted it will happen and you just be happy with the insulation achieved from the outside walls

(being that I mostly make no sense, heres a diagram  )

The technical term for what you are talking about is a 'cold bridge'.

If the partitions are being retained then there is nothing you can do. If this was being done to Building Regulations and you were trying to achieve particular figures and had an anal Inspector then maybe you would increase the wall insulation very slightly to compensate.
