Hi everyone,
Had a look at some of the other discussions but couldn’t really find the exact answer to my question. I am renovating my bathroom currently stripping back to brick. I want to know the best way to bring the walls back to a finish i can tile on (main concern is window wall). The house has a solid brick wall with no cavity. The wall with the window is the only external wall, the plaster on this wall was damp i am suspecting this was caused by old leaking gutters which i will replace. Please see attached photos. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Thanks for that. I think putting something like that in place will take up too much space as the bathroom is already quite small. Was going down the sand and cement route not sure if you’re supposed to put any waterproofer in there though.

Rigid foam insulation has about twice the insulating power of mineral wool, and does not require battens. It will make a tremendous improvement to bathroom condensation on cold tiled walls.

The external wall needs insulation most.
