Metal corrugated rook, previously painted in what I assume was masonry paint or an oil based paint. The paint was in a poor state after being left untouched for 10+ years. Commercial decorator recommended repainting the roof in bitumen paint which he did a year or so ago, and within 6 months it was debonding and flaking/washing off.
The decorator is baffled why it happened and has offered me three options: recoat with bitumen, paint with red oxide or standard oil based paint.
Buggered if I know what the solution is or what needs to be done to prepare the surface so the problem doesn't reoccur. Any advice?
