solution to spiders

I don't have a single spider in my house and I know why, I smoke 35 cigarettes a day and my walls are covered in nicotine which is highly toxic to spiders.
Not until one gets inside your ear, and I once became a victim, I was asleep, felt some tingling in my right ear, so thought nothing of it other than may be hair got into it, so I wiped my hand over my ear to move any hair to stop them tingling me, all stopped for a while, then again tingling started, wiped my hand again, and it stopped, then a few minutes later it started again, this time I inserted my little finger in the ear canal, and heard a crunch like noise, took my finger out and saw a spider's leg squashed against the finger nail, immediately I dashed to the bathroom and poured water into my ear, and out came a spider size of a penny, *******! how it managed to get in there I have no idea, normally ear wax repels or deters insects and other crawlies from getting in.
I think I stopped her laying eggs just in time!

You must expect humorous responses on here.
However, my post was quite serious. Why are you concerned about spiders? They are harmless, at least in this country.

You may have scared the hell out of him, may be you are more frieghtening than those spiders! (he he! only joking)
There was a time when i used to be scared of spiders to the extent that if I was being chased by a gunman, I would not try to hide in a place full of spiders much rather get a bullet in my back, but now I will go to lengths through a net of spiders to get to the gunman.

Spiders can be a nuisance around CCTV cameras, they block/obscure the view and with auto-sensor cameras, they cause them to record unnecessarily.
If you read the OP you'll realise that the spiders are outside under the sofits, not in the house.

Yes I know that is a big problem with any CCTV system with outside cameras, and their web and all bits stuck to it glow at night due to infra red light, soon as you have taken their web down there is another one the next day!
The solution is not how to get rid of the spiders but where can you find a spider proof CCTV system, ones with facility to keep the lense clear of any obstacles.

Thank you. I'm afraid I hadn't realised the reason he wanted shut of them. Now I can see the problem.
Perhaps there are deterrent materials that can be painted or sprayed on or around the affected areas?

The OP seemed to be giving advice, not asking for it.
He uses Flee Spray and it works!
