I came home last night and turned on the bathroom light (2 std wall lights and 6 overhead halogens, all on same switch).

A bulb blew and all the lights in the flat went out - execpt for the front room. THere are only 2 old fashioned fuses in my fuse box (1 ligthting and one for appliances) and the fuses hadn't blown.

So, I don't know what to do. There are 15 lights out around the flat that don't work and 1 that does.

Please help!

Have a close look at the lighting fuse, sometimes they look ok but have blown, check the fuse carrier for flash marks, clean them with some emery/nail file

there are a number of possibilities

1: the light thats working isn't on the lighting circuit (you can check this by pulling the sockets fuse)
2: its not the fuse thats blown but a bad connection somewhere
3: both.
