Sony Blu-ray lost functions from internet.

Been out of the house for 18 months, the DBP-S373 blu-ray player did have internet connections allowing BBC iplayer and many others, on return there are only a few left, non are really any use, it asks me to register, but when I try it will not let me.

Is it just tough I have lost it, or is there something which can be done?

maybe unplug it for 24 hours to clear any memories and start afresh?
