I have horizontal flickering lines on the right hand side of the screen which disappear after 15 minutes. They distort from top to bottom. No external magnetic sources near set on that side. Anyone have cunning idea of cure. TV bought new in summer 2008 for Olympic games...doesn't look like it will see London 2012.....or will it? Thanks in advance.

I think you can rule out magnetic interference. Flatscreen TVs don't have a problem with it, only CRTs.
It could be badcaps hence the reason it goes ok when warmed up.
