Sony soundbar making insane noise

Hi! Our Sony HT-A3000 worked fine until today and then suddenly started making this awful static kind of noise.

The video starts with a video playing, then paused, then playing again. You see it gets even worse when paused/on home screen or similar.

I’ve tried swapping out the hdmi cable, a reset on the soundbar, and turning off for a bit at the power mains. I’ve also tested other inputs and bluetooth audio and the issue persists across all.

Unfortunately it’s out of warranty so just trying to understand if it’s likely dead or fixable.

Yep using an earc input

This sounds quite like a soundbar receiving a digital signal it can't decode. What was the thing you were playing, a disc of some sort or a console game? Do you know what the audio format was?
