Last year I was given colour TV, a Sony model which had an excellent picture on it etc until a few months back.
Now when you switch it on, it makes the ordinary buzz/thump sound when it starts to come on but fails to actually come on, there is no picture or sound. The degaussing circuit however works since the positor gets warmwith the small humming sound in the area.
Could the problem be a dry joint or something simple? although the area it was is a bit of a damp area but has since been removed from there. I have had training in TV servicing before and am aware of risks associated with TVs e.g high voltage etc.
Could someone please help with this.
