I am considering replacing an internal door between a livingroom and a study in order to improve the sound insulation between the rooms.

The existing door is a cheap hollow molded type.

Does anyone have any advice for the best type of internal door for sound insulation? Is there anything I should consider when fitting it to improve its sound insulation properties?

I am also considering upgrading the stud partition wall between the two rooms but see the door as the weakest link.

just my opinion:

it may be there is a gap around the door, and noise gets in this way, is there insulation in the stud wall (that will cut down noise)
