Sound Insulation

What would be the best product to fit in the ceiling void of a room? Acoustic roll or flexiable slab? A look on the internet and it seems a slab would be best, is it worth fitting more than 100mm thick? Should I try to fill the whole ceiling void?

A fully filled void is preferable to partial, but it is wise to leave space for cables, or run them in plastic conduit tube. Go for the denser mineral wool slabs if poss but loft roll would be a much cheaper option, and only slightly less effective.
