I live in a semi-detached house and my boys' rooms share a wall with my neighbours kids, and as everyone is getting older. things are getting noisier.

I am wondering if there is a way to improve the sound proof qualities of the walls without major work (i.e. not removing plasterboard etc.).

Are there materials that can be stuck / screwed on to a wall and then painted over? I don't mind losing 1-2cm of the room if it means years of improved peace.

Is this possible?
