Sound proofing party wall

I have been quoted £400 to upgrade from standard plasterboard to sound proofing plasterboard on a loft conversion party wall. (Approx: 12m square)

Does this seem reasonable and does it work well please?

No such material.

If that price was the difference between having normal plasterboard or something lilke Gyproc Soundbloc, then £400 is far too much.

Soundproofing is far more than just selecting a different board for the walls, and even then 'soundproof' is not correct, sound reduction would be more like it.
