The noise is like an iron chair dragged along concrete, the sound of my heating just before it shuts off, it then needs resetting to get it going again. It only seems to be in the evening, in the morning hot water and heating is fine. Can anyone please advise? It is a Potterton Puma80e combi. Does the boiler need replacing or is there another solution? Thanks Jonathan

Sounds like the pump or fan is running dry.

If for example an motorized valve closed and there's no by-pass the pump will have no circulation
