Hi,

I'm installing a new bathroom, with tanked bath area and mixer shower. The supply pipes for the mixer need to come through the wall.

I want to make sure that the couplers project through the tiles just the right amount to fit securely into the bar mixer with a minimum of screw thread showing. I have to wrap the pipes in the tanking tape prior to putting the tiles on, so there'll be no chance for adjustment later.

Can anybody advise on tips and tricks for getting the couplers in the right place? Is it just a case of tile depth + x mm tile adhesive + y mm leeway, and careful measurement? If so, what are good values for x and y?

Thanks for any advice.
