Hi there,

I realise a decent adjustable spanner will usually work, but I wondered whether anyone knows if there is a tool specifically designed for the square section radiator valve tails that are now so popular.

Today I removed some old internal-hex-type valve tails using a radiator valve allen key (and a 2ft tommy bar) and wondered what I will do when I have to deal with a square tail that is stuck this hard.

Surely I can't be the only one who wants a proper tool for this?

Decent spanner and if it's stuck just get the blow-lamp out and give it some heat! No other way really.

Not all of them will be the same size from different manufacturers so it would be difficult to make a universal tool!

As someone said on another forum then, plumbers have to make the best of the worst materials

Well, thank you, at least I know I'm not just being ignorant in not having a specific tool.
