I've had a quick look on the forum but can't find any references to it, so I'll ask here. ;)

What size are the wires used for the Split Load Wiring within the CU ? I'm guessing 16mm but would just like to know coz I'm a nosy git

Also, are they always pre-terminated with solid ends, or is it something that would normally be done onsite ?

you mean to go to the RCD supply from the main switch load terminals and/or neutral busbar

the ones I've seen have a solid copper bar, looks like 16mm equivalent.

Crabtree starbreaker have a special P busbar

Thanks John. All the piccies I've seen of Split Load CU's seem to have three lengths of wire, with or without terminals already on them like this :-

The way the cable snakes smoothly around the CU, I just presumed they were Multi-Core wires, not Rod.

p.s. I have just had a look at some other MEMs, and there is some variation, some have bars and some have cable

The multicore is Tri-rated it has higher current capacity than the similar sized standard cable,it is commonly used for panel and control wiring and quite expensive.

The ferrule terminations are put on with a ferrule crimper to ensure good connection ,etc.
