I need a new sponge float mines shaged
i decided to start bracking in a new trowel today aswell
trying too plaster with a shaged finger too lol
i felt like a totel spastic
if it hasn't got a soft start get rid of it, the sponge float can be used tactically as well on that last job i had a small hallway to do it had 3 surfaces board, sand and cement and bonding , i hit the ceiling along with a wall on the first coat, and when it was time for the second coat i gave the bonding wall its 1st and 2nd coat, because i knew the bonding wall would suck, now i had the ceiling and 2 walls all going off together and as the bonding wall pulled in i rubbed it up with the sponge float it worked out nice, that left one wall which i brought in with the next wall in the ajoining hallway, which i sponged up, i've got to admit though that i try to use it a lest as possible nowdays, as you can get to used to it, ive heard storys of spreads who can only plaster with the sponge float and nothing elseits as ski hat lol ebay love it
well as for the gears its not the mega mixer its ment too be my main mixer fcking thig worked fine on OCR lst week
now i go too use it and the gear knob on the side dont do s**t think ill need to strip it down.
theres just no soft start on it so put it on slowspeed first now its all or nothing.
as for the bubbles yer got them out with the sponge and trowel

wet **** on the floor? i dont get thati dont like using it if i can help it as its a **** cleaning all the wet s**t off the floor.
jr use the sponge when its time to give it its first wet one but if you know what you are doing it can be used earlierive sort of got the jist of wen to use the sponge float but haveing never used it for anything other than feathering in im a bit reluctant to use it till i know more about it. how do you guys use it bear in mind i still wanna do 2 coats to make it a proper job.
in my mind it was first coat, flatten, second coat, flatten, then sponge?? and trowel?? but do you have to let it go off more before you sponge it than you would if you was just troweling it or plastic troweling it??
use a diamand stone to break it in, i had a chip in one of mine i asked the chippie onsite if he had an oil stone he said dont use em any more we use diamond stones (first i heard of it), it took my chip out in a minute flat it will put a nice edge on yer trowel m8I forgot what it was like too start bracking in a trowel
but it dont look bad
it doesn't really matter circular motions are best, the technique i i use is to hold the spongefloat in my left hand and sponge and trowel as i go, you may only have to sponge up 1m2 and that will generate enough creamy fat to do the next couple of m2 and so on, you will notice the difference as you trowel as well its a lot easier and smoother to trowel up, also sometimes i do hit the walls earlier its a matter of judgment.cheers for clearing that up for me steve i had a feeling that was wen to use it one last question do you do light circular motions or do you do just up and down left and right strokes
