Can I put a spotlight into a glass display cabinet, it’s metal cased, floor standing.

Theres one hole at the top in a corner where I deliberately left out a screw as it would seem just about big enough to get cable through.

Is it possible to wire up one of those round lights, not recessed, which I can secure to the inside top, cable threaded through the hole, then add a plug. Is this safe to do. I don’t want the LED strips.

Your tips for this would be much appreciated.

Thanks, for confirming, I presumed this should be ok.

in my haste I rushed out and bought a set of strip lights, very, very effective till I put them in the cabinet, lucky I’ve not stuck them down firmly until I was able to step back and look. Have to say they look AWFUL, I’ve placed at the front of the cabinet, all around, you can’t see them as the framework hides them, as does the door when it’s closed, but when switched on they reflect to the glass at the back of the cabinet. I’m afraid these aren’t for me.

I’ll have a look at Toolstation.
